In Rune Factory, its usually not terrible, but it can get pretty bad on occasions when there are a lot of monsters, and. Ive recently played Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny on PS3 which makes a good reference point. Thanks to Nier’s accessible lore, the Drakengard games aren’t essential to understanding the Nier franchise, but it’s still useful to know exactly what events lead up to Nier: Replicant. Im a having a hard time deciding if I want to play Drakengard 3 on PS3 for the trophy or emulate on PC for a smoother experience. Unfortunately, despite the great story, the gameplay and the voice acting have aged quite badly. Like the first Nier, the Drakengard series had gained a very niche audience but were loved for their complex and mature narratives that transcended many generic fantasy RPGs at the time. Still a really great game though with a really good story. The events of Nier take place after one of the endings in the PlayStation 2 action-RPG Drakengard. Drakengard 1 is also pretty good and the endings are the best in the series but I don’t think its as good as Drakengard 3 because the gameplay is less refined and I found it weird how most of the characters arent in the game outside of the roman numeral verses. However, the story didn’t start with the original Nier. RELATED: Nier Replicant: Every Sealed Verse, Ranked Together, they polished up what was already considered a diamond in the rough from 2010. Thanks to the success of Nier: Automata, Toro and the studio Toylogic have remastered its predecessor Nier: Replicant to more critical acclaim. This title was developed along with PlatinumGames and combined with Toro’s unique writing style and script it is now considered to be one of the greatest action RPGs of a generation. Created by the equally acclaimed and eccentric Yoko Toro, the Nier series achieved critical and commercial success with Nier: Automata. Don’t start causing a storm in a teacup. If one is in a business meeting, presenting a paper, or pitching a plan of some sort, it’s likely going to come across as unprofessional if used. Like most idioms and proverbs, this one is likely not appropriate for more academic or serious conversations. Despite this, with context, it’s still quite easy to put into practice. Speakers should keep in mind that because of the fact that it has largely fallen out of use, there are some people who aren’t going to understand what it’s referring to. It’s a lesser-known idiom than some of the more popular examples (see below), but it can still be quite effective. It could be used among friends, family members, or even close colleagues. It’s possible to use “a storm in a teacup” in a number of different situations. They involve glasses of water, ladles, teacups, and more. There are numerous other versions of this phrase in different languages. The British English version, “a storm in a teacup,’ was first recorded in 1838 in Catherine Sinclair’s Modern Accomplishments. They might start out with different words arranged in a different order and then become solidified as they’re used in everyday speech. It was later used in examples in the 3rd century with the use of the words “tempest” and “saucepan.” In print, it also appeared in 1815 when then Lord Chancellor Thurlow was quoted saying that an uprising on the Isle of Man was a “tempest in a teapot.”Īs is common with these phrases, they tend to evolve over time. He references it as “the saying,” suggesting that he knew it and others were already aware of it before he used it in this piece. It’s clear that even at this time, in the first century BC, this phrase was commonly used. He wrote, “Excitabat enim fluctus in simpulo ut dicitur Gratidius,” in English this reads:įor Gratidius raised a tempest in a ladle, as the saying is. The phrase “a storm in a teacup” is thought to have originated, in its first form, around the time of Cicero’s De Legibus. For example, if someone overreacts to a small event, they might be or cause a “storm in a teapot.” The “storm” is a metaphor for the chaotic and dramatic action, and the “teapot” is the broader situation that doesn’t warrant the storm. The phrase is commonly used when someone wants to describe something that drew way too much focus and took more energy than it should’ve. It has been blown out of proportion with reality. Steel Seed releases in 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S|X.The idiom “a storm in a teacup,” or “a tempest in a teacup,” as is more common in American English, refers to an event that’s been exaggerated. To make a long story short, that fixed the problem for me. Cleaning up I ended up freeing 70 gigs leaving me with 100 gigs of hard drive space available. I had so much stuff I accumulated in my hard drive, specially my mixing sessions, that I had only about 30 gigs left available. Then I tried something different and it worked like a charm!Īll I did was clean up my internal Hard Drive, getting rid of whatever I did not need, either throwing stuff in the trash as well as backing up all my sessions in a different hard drive, keeping only the session I was working on, or just few sessions at a time. I would hit the space bar, and there goes the message again.įor a moment I thought there was something wrong, either with the software (a bug) or my computer since nothing worked regarding Logic Pro X optimization. It got to a point where the same CPU message error started appearing in every session. I was puzzled because I never had that issue before. I went on YouTube and forums to see what happened, and all had great suggestions on how to optimize Logic Pro X, and still I had the same CPU error message. Then one day I started getting the CPU overload message. I run logic Pro X in Mac OS Mohave 10.14.5Īnd I can do a fair deal of processing which allows me to produce good mixes. I don't know much about computers and specs. But something happen to me regarding that matter that fixed the problem without having to do anything with logic Pro itself, and I'm sharing it in case it may be of help. We all know that's too many plug-ins running simultaneously causes CPU overload issues. Any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I know/expect Maschine won't be as efficient as an actual DAW, but how much of a difference is the question. I know this depends on my CPU specs (2.8 GHz i7 MBP, 16GB RAM), but it does well with what I do currently. How much of a template can I build? Can my CPU handle a 35 track template of purged VIs? Can my CPU handle a 10-15 track session of VIs in action? I can't find a single video of someone using it primarily with VIs. My specific concerns are all related to how it handles virtual instruments as most who use it are working with samples & sample packs. Wanting to use it similar to a DAW, Logic, I've been holding off. Complaints about it are consistently regarding the lack of DAW-like features. I've been strongly considering a Maschine MK3. Do you use Maschine software in a similar way as Logic? If so, how is the CPU efficiency of the Maschine software compared to Logic? I even recently invested in a NI maschine and I’ve been running the DAW for that alongside logic and running several software instruments and it’s all gravy.Maschine question for you. Hope this may prove the case for others of you, best of luck. Can you elaborate on what you mean by standard resolution? Now with 10.4 and a bit of a reduction in screen real estate my machine feels like it's landed from 2025.unbelievable! I'm blown away.i've been pulling my hair out for years with logic's sluggish response, it's felt like wading through treacle since v10. It's turbo charged, super stable, and runs full mixes with ableton rewired in, full of kontakts, sound toys, omnispheres, slates, mastering plugins etc etc all at a buffer of 32, with routing going all over the place (24 ins and outs, digital and analogue), rock solid and perfect, processor at 20, 30% This has completely revolutionised my laptop. Then someone suggested I put the macbook to standard resolution (i always have "more space"). Problem was it would return if i tried to record (infuriating, especially with a singer and a studio crew around). But if i closed the mix view and opened a separate mix window this didn't happen any more. If i used the mixer view in the main page processor would climb without falling back down (even with a single instrument) until overload spike and error message. Logic would be fine in some situations but suddenly be on it's knees with very little stuff happening. I have recently discovered what's been plaguing my system for months. I posted this a few days ago after reading your post but not sure if you've seen it so reposting here: JR Raphael/IDGĬreating new tasks from emails is as simple as dragging and dropping, as is being done here with the topmost message. The panel at the right of Gmail's web interface lets you pull up Google Calendar, Google Keep, or Google Tasks right inside your inbox so you can manage info from each of those apps without having to switch tabs or open anything new - and here's a handy hidden trick: With Tasks, you can drag messages directly from your inbox into the panel to create new tasks around them. In Google's old Inbox service, that shortcut was simplified down to just i, and once you get used to that shorter sequence, you won't want to go back.ĥ. One of my favorite adjustments, for instance - and one I rely on constantly - is adding in a second command for the "Go to inbox" shortcut, which is typically gi by default. There, you can adjust any of the default keyboard settings to make them simpler to activate or easier to remember. Once Gmail refreshes itself to apply the changes, go back to the Settings area again and look for the newly present Keyboard Shortcuts tab. See the line labeled "Custom keyboard shortcuts"? Click "Enable" next to that, then click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen. Go back into the website's settings and this time, click the Advanced tab. Some of Gmail's best keyboard shortcuts are the ones you create yourself. Select the "Keyboard shortcuts on" setting and then be sure to click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen.Ĥ. Just make sure you enable keyboard shortcuts first, if you haven't already: Click the gear icon in the website's upper-right corner, then click "See all settings" and look for the "Keyboard shortcuts" option midway down the screen that comes up. And then hit the colon key ( :) to collapse it back down so you see only the most recent email. A super-useful keyboard shortcut I always forget to use: While viewing a multi-email thread of messages - a conversation in which you have numerous back-and-forth replies under the same subject - hit the semicolon key ( ) to expand the entire conversation and show every message in the thread. You can archive the email, delete it, mark it as read or unread, snooze it, or even RSVP to a meeting request right then and there - without ever having to open the message.ģ. It's easy to miss, but take note: When you hover your mouse over a message in your inbox, Gmail gives you a series of quick-access actions at the far-right side of the line. Gmail's attachment tiles are a great way to jump directly to attachments without having to open an email.Ģ. And you can click on any of those tiles to open or preview the file's contents and get directly to the info you need. Provided you haven't switched away from the service's "default" interface arrangement, you'll see small tiles for every file associated with an email right below the message's subject line. You can actually view attachments right from your Gmail inbox. (Note that unless otherwise specified, these tips are specific to Gmail's web-based desktop version.) Gmail tips: Inbox step-saversġ. It will still look pretty ridiculous, though. It will buy you a little more room so you won't have to reduce the minimum note distance quite so drastically. The program is compatible with different devices such as iPhone, Windows, and Android. It is suitable for both songwriters and composers, and it offers various features that allow for customization. Not a good idea musically, and won't work anywhere but the first system, but anyhow, it's a way of bending the rules here. (Online) Noteflight is a music notation program that is user-friendly and provides a smooth performance. Splitting the difference between these options is probably wiser still, depending on the age of the person for whom you are producing the score - very young and very old eyes alike might balk at the 6 mm staff size, but most people 10-60 will be OK with it.Īctually, in this case, you can "cheat" the system by using Format / Style / Score to remove the indentation on the first system. For example, leaving all other settings as they were, reducing the staff space to 1.5 (so, total staff size of 6 mm instead of 7 mm) looks infinitely better. So if you ever had a real world example where you wanted that much music opn a single line, certainly much better to reduce the staff size, in Format / Page Settings. It will force the measures to fit, and will look, indeed, ridiculous, as notes will be practically touching each other. So, you can instead go to Format / Style / Measure, and reduce both Spacing and Minimum note distance to their absolutely minimum (1.0 and 0.0 respectively). The stretch command on it own won't do it, because there is physically no way to force that many notes onto a single system and still maintain your minimum note distance. This is a good example of what I meant when I said "occasionally reducing spacing. |
